Save short names with alias
Section titled “Save short names with alias”$ alias ll='ls -l'$ alias g='grep -i'$ alias$ ll ./MySpace$ unalias llalias stores shortcuts in this browser (localStorage). With no arguments, it lists name=value lines. unalias name removes one alias.
When you run an alias, Shell expands it once and appends extra arguments. Nested alias names inside the value are not expanded again. You cannot create an alias whose name is a built-in command (ls, cd, alias, …).
Re-run the previous line with ^old^new
Section titled “Re-run the previous line with ^old^new”$ cat debug-2025-10-23$ ^cat^openThe second line runs open debug-2025-10-23. Shell replaces the first occurrence of OLD with NEW in the previous command (the same previous line as ↑ history). A trailing ^ is optional. NEW may be empty to delete text.
Enter help ^ for details.
