Qron Calc Macro migration guide

This guide explains how to migrate Qron Calc Macro content from Confluence Data Center to Confluence Cloud.

Macro formulas and parameters live in Confluence page content. They are migrated by the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA). Starting with Qron Calc Macro for Confluence Data Center 1.3.0, CCMA can map the Data Center macro to the Qron Calc Macro Cloud macro during migration. Install the Qron Calc Macro Cloud app on the destination site so migrated macros render in Cloud.

  • This procedure was verified on Confluence Data Center 9.2.14 with Qron Calc Macro for Data Center installed.
  • Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant is installed on Confluence Data Center.
  • Qron Calc Macro for Confluence Data Center 1.3.0 or later is installed and enabled.
  • Qron Calc Macro for Confluence Cloud is installed on the destination Cloud site.
  • The migration user has permission to read the source spaces and migrate them to Cloud.
  1. In Confluence Data Center, open Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant.
  2. Run app assessment and confirm that Qron Calc Macro is marked as needed in Cloud and can be migrated.
  3. Install the Qron Calc Macro Cloud app on the destination Cloud site if it is not already installed.
  4. Create a test migration plan with a small space that contains Qron Calc Macro pages.
  5. Run the test migration and wait for the migration plan to finish.
  6. Open the migrated pages in Confluence Cloud and verify the macros.
  7. If the test result is acceptable, run the production migration.

For several migrated pages, verify the following:

  • The calculated value is shown on the page.
  • The formula is preserved.
  • The page can be edited and published.
  • The macro configuration can be opened, changed, saved, and displayed again.
  • During migration, a page may temporarily show an unresolved or incomplete macro state. Check the page again after the CCMA migration plan has completed.
  • A migration plan may stay RUNNING for a long time while the migrated pages in Cloud already render correctly. The CCMA status can lag behind the actual page state.
  • After Marketplace migration settings are updated, CCMA may take some time to refresh its app migration status. If the app still appears as install-only immediately after an update, wait and run app assessment again.
  • After migration, on the first edit the macro configuration dialog may not render correctly. Close the dialog and open it again; the content should then display correctly.

Confirm that the Qron Calc Macro Cloud app is installed on the destination site. Then wait until the CCMA migration plan has completed and reload the page.

Open the macro configuration in Cloud and check the formula and format fields. If the values appear there, save the macro and publish the page.

After migration, Qron Calc Macro pages should be usable in Confluence Cloud. Users should be able to view the calculated result and edit the macro configuration in Cloud.
